Lately, work has been so demanding that I’ve been using porn videos as a sort of "pressure relief valve" at the end of the day. It’s a quick way to shut off the part of my brain that’s constantly worrying about deadlines and emails. However, I’m starting to wonder if I’m becoming too reliant on it as my only way to unwind. I talked to a buddy about it, and he suggested trying some high-intensity exercise instead to get that same endorphin rush. I’ve started mixing in some evening runs, and it’s actually helped me feel more balanced overall. Do you find that your digital habits are tied to your stress levels, and what else do you do to decompress when the world gets too loud?

I definitely notice a correlation between my stress and my screen time. When I’m overwhelmed, I tend to seek out easy, mindless stimulation. I’ve had to be really careful about not letting adult content become a "crutch" for my mood management. My partner and I actually started a routine where we go for a walk together right after work to "de-brief" before we even touch our phones or laptops. It helps us process the day as a team rather than retreating into our own separate digital worlds. It’s not about giving up the things we enjoy online, but just making sure they aren't the only thing we have to lean on when things get tough.

I just wandered into this thread while looking for some reviews on new standing desks. This is a very insightful discussion on burnout and coping mechanisms. It seems like everyone is trying to find their own way to survive the grind of 2026. I think the idea of having a "toolkit" of different ways to de-stress is a really smart approach. I’m mostly just here to figure out my office ergonomics, but I enjoyed reading through these posts. It’s a very supportive community you guys have here, which is a nice find. I hope you all find some time to truly relax this weekend!
